Salutations and Welcome to Third Vault Yarns run by Lola, a scotland based indie dyer in the UK.

Third Vault Yarns was born out of a passion for geeky things and emotive colour. A way to interweave a love of science fiction and fantasy with a deep connection to knitting and playing with colour.

We've been around since 2015, growing and connecting with you over all of our colourways that take inspirations from books, films, television, board games and more. We love to celebrate geeky things with geeky yarn, bringing fantasy themes to life in moody and rich colour or giving you zingy science fiction inspired yarn in tonally variegated joyful yarn.

The love of geeky things is carried into our knitting patterns, most notably in our knitting pattern books, a two volume collection celebrating board games in knitting pattern form. There are lots more patterns on offer, connecting an aesthetic born of a want to have fun playing with shapes and code through knitting patterns.... have to use those computer science degrees for something!
